Take your metalsmithing further with soldering, stone setting, and advanced techniques. Choose your project — stacker rings, bangles, or a simple stone setting for a pendant or earrings — and leave with a finished piece in sterling silver. Prerequisites: completion of the Beginning Jewelry class or demonstrable silversmithing experience within the last 8 years.

What to Expect

Sample Schedule

  • We begin our day with a short but thorough tour & introduction to the studio. Tools, safety & a sketch up of what you will be making.

  • Hands-on time to explore, practice with sawing/soldering/overview of stonesetting/etc. Getting to know your comfort level & technique.

  • Students will be responsible for brining their own lunch, but we'll provide water, tea & coffee.

  • This is where you shine! With help along the way you will have these hours to create your very own treasure. I will provide as much or little guidance as you request.

The studio is at the top of the hill, has raw wooden siding & a green roof.

There is a huge sandstone rock in front of it. Drive is at a slant. Feel free to park along the road or in the gravel drive.

  • No experience is needed for the Copper & Brass Cold Connections Class.

    To take the Soldering and Stone Setting Class you will need to have taken the first (CBCC class) or have had previous experience in metal smithing within the last 8 years.

  • The studio space is set up for one to two students and instructor. While its most comfortable to have no more than two people working at one time we can accommodate upon request.
